TJ Design Website Giveaway Terms & Conditions

These Promotional Terms and Conditions apply to the TJ Design Website Giveaway. By entering this giveaway, participants agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.

This giveaway is operated by TJ Design and is intended to give one eligible business the opportunity to win a professional business website package.

Promotional competitions in South Africa are generally regulated under the Consumer Protection Act, and personal information should be handled in line with POPIA requirements. These terms are written to clearly disclose the prize, conditions, exclusions, and responsibilities of both TJ Design and the winner.

1. Promotional Giveaway

TJ Design is offering one selected winner a free business website package.

The giveaway prize includes:

A 1–4 page business website
6 months of free hosting
Mobile-friendly website design
Basic SEO setup
WhatsApp and social media integration
Free domain setup assistance

The prize applies only to the services specifically listed above. Any services, features, pages, integrations, content creation, advanced functionality, or additional work not listed as included may be quoted separately by TJ Design.

2. Eligibility

To enter the giveaway, participants must:

Be 18 years or older
Be based in South Africa, unless otherwise accepted by TJ Design
Have a legitimate business, startup, service, brand, or professional project suitable for a business website
Follow the required entry steps as set out in the giveaway post
Be able to provide the required business information, written content, images, and branding material needed to complete the website

TJ Design reserves the right to request reasonable proof of age, business ownership, business involvement, or authority to act on behalf of the business.

Employees, direct family members, representatives, suppliers, or anyone directly connected to TJ Design may be excluded from entering or winning the giveaway where required to keep the giveaway fair.

3. How to Enter

To enter the giveaway, participants must complete the entry steps listed in the official giveaway post, which may include:

Following TJ Design on Facebook
Liking the official giveaway post
Sharing the official giveaway post
Commenting something related to the giveaway or their business

Only entries that correctly follow the required steps may be considered valid.

Incomplete, duplicate, fake, misleading, automated, or suspicious entries may be removed or disqualified at TJ Design’s discretion.

4. Giveaway Period and Winner Announcement

The winner will be announced on 1 June 2026, unless TJ Design is required to delay the announcement due to technical issues, verification delays, platform issues, or circumstances outside of its control.

TJ Design reserves the right to extend, postpone, amend, or cancel the giveaway where reasonably necessary.

The winner will be contacted through the platform used for the giveaway or another suitable contact method if available.

If the winner does not respond within 7 days of being contacted, TJ Design reserves the right to select another winner.

5. Prize Details

The winner will receive a website package that includes a 1–4 page business website.

The final number of pages will depend on the type of business, the content supplied, and what TJ Design reasonably determines is suitable for the project.

The package is intended for a standard business website only.

6. Exclusions

The giveaway does not include ecommerce websites or online stores.

The following are not included unless separately quoted and agreed to in writing:

Ecommerce functionality
Online payment systems
Product catalogues
Shopping carts
Booking systems
Membership systems
Client portals
Custom web applications
Advanced forms or calculators
Paid plugins, paid themes, or paid third-party tools
Copywriting from scratch
Professional photography
Logo design
Video editing
Advanced animations
Advanced SEO campaigns
Google Ads or paid marketing
Social media management
Ongoing website updates after completion
Extra pages beyond the included 1–4 pages
Custom integrations with external platforms
Email hosting or business email setup, unless separately agreed

Any additional work requested by the winner outside the included giveaway package may be quoted separately and will only begin once accepted and paid for where required.

7. Domain Setup

The giveaway includes free domain setup assistance.

This means TJ Design will assist with setting up or connecting a domain for the website where possible.

The giveaway does not automatically include the cost of purchasing a new domain unless TJ Design specifically confirms otherwise in writing.

If a domain needs to be purchased, renewed, transferred, recovered, or managed through a third-party provider, any third-party charges remain the responsibility of the winner unless otherwise agreed.

The winner is responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use the chosen domain name.

8. Hosting

The winner will receive 6 months of free hosting for the giveaway website.

The free hosting period begins from the date the website is published or made live, unless TJ Design confirms a different start date in writing.

After the 6-month free hosting period ends, the winner will be required to pay for hosting if they wish to keep the website online.

The current hosting price is R399, but hosting prices may change after the free 6-month period. The winner will be informed of the applicable hosting fee before continued hosting is billed.

9. Non-Payment After Hosting Period

If the free 6-month hosting period expires and payment is not made for continued hosting, TJ Design may take the website offline after 30 days.

If no payment is made and no communication or arrangement is received from the winner within an additional 30 days after the website has been taken offline, TJ Design reserves the right to permanently remove the website and its related files from its hosting environment.

Once the website has been permanently removed, TJ Design will not be responsible for recovering, restoring, rebuilding, or supplying backups of the website.

It is the winner’s responsibility to communicate with TJ Design before the hosting period expires if they wish to continue hosting, make payment arrangements, or request any alternative options.

10. Website Design Timeline

Once the winner has been announced and all required information, content, images, branding, and website details have been supplied, TJ Design will aim to complete the website design within approximately 3–7 working days.

This timeline may be affected by:

Delays in receiving content from the winner
Missing information
Poor quality images or incomplete branding material
Requested changes
Technical issues
Domain or hosting delays
Third-party platform delays
The complexity of the website

The 3–7 working day timeline is an estimate and not a guaranteed deadline.

11. Winner Responsibilities

The winner must provide TJ Design with all required information and materials needed to complete the website.

This may include:

Business name
Business description
Contact details
Services or products offered
Images
Logo or branding material
Social media links
WhatsApp number
Email address
Domain information, where applicable
Any written content required for the website

The winner must provide this information within a reasonable timeframe after being contacted.

If the winner fails to provide the required material within 14 days, TJ Design reserves the right to delay the project, reduce the scope of the website, or select another winner.

12. Ownership of Supplied Materials

The winner confirms that all logos, images, text, branding, graphics, videos, business information, and other materials supplied to TJ Design are either owned by the winner or that the winner has full permission and legal authority to use them.

The winner is fully responsible for ensuring that any supplied materials do not infringe on the rights, trademarks, copyrights, privacy rights, or intellectual property of any third party.

TJ Design will not be held liable for any copyright claims, trademark disputes, ownership disputes, image licensing issues, or legal claims arising from materials supplied by the winner.

If any claim, complaint, or dispute arises due to materials supplied by the winner, the winner agrees to take full responsibility for resolving the matter and for any costs, losses, damages, or claims that may arise.

13. Website Content

The winner is responsible for the accuracy of all business information, service descriptions, prices, contact details, claims, images, and any other content displayed on the website.

TJ Design may assist with layout, wording adjustments, and basic formatting, but the winner remains responsible for checking and approving all content before the website goes live.

TJ Design will not be responsible for losses, errors, incorrect information, outdated information, or business disputes caused by content supplied or approved by the winner.

14. Revisions and Changes

The giveaway package includes reasonable basic changes during the design stage.

This may include small text edits, image swaps, layout adjustments, or minor colour changes.

The giveaway does not include unlimited revisions.

TJ Design reserves the right to limit changes where requests become excessive, fall outside the giveaway package, require major redesign work, or involve features not included in the original prize.

Any additional or advanced changes may be quoted separately.

Once the website has been approved or published, further updates, changes, redesigns, or maintenance may be charged separately.

15. Marketing Permission

By accepting the prize, the winner gives TJ Design full permission to use the completed website, business name, website screenshots, logo, project description, design previews, before-and-after visuals, and related project material for marketing and portfolio purposes.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Adding the project to the TJ Design website project list
Sharing the project on social media
Using the project in promotional material
Displaying screenshots of the website
Referring to the project as a completed TJ Design website

TJ Design may use the completed giveaway website as an example of its design work.

The winner agrees that this marketing use forms part of the giveaway conditions.

16. Website Credit

TJ Design may include a small website credit in the footer of the website, such as “Website by TJ Design” or similar wording.

This credit may link back to the TJ Design website.

Removal of the website credit may be requested, but TJ Design reserves the right to approve or decline the request.

17. Approval and Launch

Before the website is launched, the winner will be given an opportunity to review the website.

Once the winner approves the website, or once TJ Design reasonably considers the website ready based on the supplied information, the website may be published.

The winner is responsible for reviewing all website content, contact details, links, and information before launch.

18. No Cash Alternative

The prize cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another person, sold, or used as credit toward another project unless TJ Design agrees in writing.

If the winner does not want to proceed with the website, the prize may be forfeited.

19. Platform Disclaimer

This giveaway may be promoted on Facebook or other social media platforms.

The giveaway is run by TJ Design and is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta, or any other social media platform unless expressly stated.

Participants release the relevant social media platforms from any responsibility connected to the giveaway.

20. Personal Information

By entering the giveaway, participants agree that TJ Design may collect and process limited personal information for purposes related to the giveaway, including verifying entries, contacting the winner, announcing the winner, and delivering the prize.

Personal information will be handled in line with applicable South African privacy requirements, including POPIA, which aims to protect personal information processed by public and private bodies.

TJ Design will not sell participants’ personal information.

21. Disqualification

TJ Design reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner if:

The entry steps were not followed correctly
The participant is under 18
False information was provided
The entry appears fake, spammy, automated, or misleading
The participant behaves abusively or dishonestly
The winner cannot provide the required website content
The requested website falls outside the giveaway package
The winner requests illegal, offensive, harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content
The winner refuses to comply with these terms

22. Limitation of Liability

TJ Design will not be liable for any loss, damage, claim, delay, technical issue, business loss, platform issue, hosting issue, data loss, copyright dispute, or third-party cost arising from participation in the giveaway or use of the prize, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

The winner accepts that the prize is provided as a promotional giveaway and is limited to the package described in these terms.

23. Changes to the Giveaway

TJ Design reserves the right to amend, suspend, cancel, or extend the giveaway if necessary due to technical issues, legal requirements, platform changes, abuse, fraud, or circumstances outside of its control.

Any major changes may be communicated through TJ Design’s website or social media pages.

24. Acceptance of Terms

By entering the giveaway, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Promotional Terms and Conditions.

By accepting the prize, the winner confirms that they agree to all conditions relating to website content, supplied materials, marketing permission, hosting expiry, payment requirements, and the limitations of the giveaway package.
